The royal estate of Kolomenskoye, located along the bank of the River Moscow, is one of the most popular and admired by foreigners sights outside of the Moscow's city center.
The grand palace with rich exotic decor, was built for summer residency in 1660s, during the reign of Tsar Alexis Mikhailovich, when Kolomenskoye became a royal residence.
The wooden palace we see in Kolomenskoye today, is a replica, built from the original architectural plans.
