This martisor on Yulan magnolia is a traditional Moldavian symbol of spring, featuring two white and red figurines of little boy and girl, handmade by use of Quilling technique from twisted narrow strips of paper.
Martisor is popular in Eastern Europe, which is given on the first day of spring. According to tradition, the jewelry is worn on clothes throughout March, and when the trees begin to bloom, they are hung on the branches.
