Описание: The Indonesian owl moth, Chinese owl moth or Brahmin moth (Brahmaea hearseyi) is one of the bizarre and most beautiful moths of the world, which has some of the most complicated patterned wings and wingspan ranging up to 200 mm.
Brahmaea hearseyi is a species of moth in the Brahmaeidae family, widespread in south-east Asia, in Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines, West Malaysia, Borneo, Indonesia, Kalimantan, Sumatera.
The Brahmaea species has been little studied. There are two main groups, the first refering to Owl Moths with eye markings on their wings, such as Brahmaea hearseyi and the second, that include ones without markings. Many islands in south-east Asia have their own forms.
