Pholiota squarrosa (shaggy Pholiota) is a species of mushroom in family Strophariaceae, widespread in North America, north from Canada south to Mexico and in Europe. The mushrooms Pholiota squarrosa grow as a cluster at the base of trees and stumps and can attack a wide variety of deciduous and conifers, as derive nutrients during the decomposition.
