'Garda' is an oil painting on canvas, created in 2003, by the contemporary Russian artist Vladimir Volegov, depicting several sailboats anchored in the serene deep blue water of Lake Garda in Italy.
Vladimir Volegov was born in 1957 in Khabarovsk, Russia, currently based on the Costa Brava in Spain.
He is highly regarded for his vibrant color palettes and masterclass handling of light, which are clearly exhibited here in the realistic reflections, the glowing highlights on the hulls, and the soft, sunlit mountains in the background.
